Boys Team Report – EYAL - Sunday 6 August
With the sun shining on Sunday at Bedford stadium, it was far less a soggy day than our last fixture! This was our final EYAL fixture of the 2023 season. Bedford and County AC finished 3rd overall on the day and all of the boys teams all came 3rd individually with the under 13’s scoring 69, under 15 scoring 68 and under 17’s scoring 57 points.
Girls Report – EYAL 06 August at Bedford
Our final EYAL league match saw 33 girls compete in warm, windy conditions on our home track. We had the best results of the season with 26 PBs, 3 SBs, 15 A string wins, 7 B string wins and 2 relay wins.

Hercules Wimbledon 5000 Metre Night - Great Results for Tia and Ben
There were great results From Tia Wilson and Ben Alcock at the Hercules Wimbledon 5000 Metre Night on Saturday 5th August.
Tia (U23) smashed her PB with a time of 16:04.72. This will put her in this year's UK top 40 for the event, and in the top 5 for the Under 23 category.
Ben got very close to his PB, with an impressive run of 14:05.92 to finish third in the fastest race.
International Recognition for Jack
Congratulations to Jack Goodwin, who, after later another another fine season, has been selected to run for England in the Adidas Home Nations 5K in Cardiff on 12 August. Jack has a 13:54.33 5000m to his name this year and set a 8:00.44 3000m PB at Watford last month. Good luck for the race Jack!

Thaila adds a gold medal to her silver collection
Thaila-Jade Mason added a heptathlon gold medal from the South of England Championships to the two long jump silvers she had won earlier in July at the English Schools Championships and the Schools International.

Congratulations to Ellie Garraway, who set a new club W50 1500m record at Watford on Wednesday. Ellie's new mark is 5:10.50.
Girls’ Report – YDL 22 July at Tooting Bec
A cool, damp Saturday saw 10 U13/U15 girls travel to Tooting Bec to compete in the last YDL match of the season. Although we were already relegated the girls put in a sterling effort with 9 PBs and 1 SB.
